Mature dogs, cats, and pocket pets should visit us once a year for an annual exam. Our wellness exams cover your pet from tooth to tail and will also boost or gauge their internal health. For convenience and efficiency, our exceptional team conducts all of our wellness services and treatments in-house. At their yearly visit, your pet may receive:
Spaying and neutering
Baseline blood work
Dental care examinations
Internal parasite testing
Feline Viral testing
External parasite examinations
Your puppy or kitten should come in for their first visit when they are eight weeks old. These early wellness exams are crucial to measure your pet’s baselines, administer the key vaccinations, check for internal and external parasites, begin parasite control to protect them from illness, and establish a positive relationship between you, your pet, and our staff.
We have found annual exams to be of special importance to pocket pets. By nature, these special small animals hide illnesses and serious problems as a defense against predators. Without the help of proactive wellness exams, these problems may not be discovered until they are too severe to correct. Maintain the health of your small animal by coming to see us at least once a year.
With the advancements in companion animal medicine, our dogs and cats enjoy longer lives but also exhibit illnesses and conditions we associate with advanced aging. Once dogs and cats reach the age of seven, regular preventive care visits are essential to keeping senior pets healthy and happy for as long as possible.
We conduct our senior examinations with increased attention to detail and extra consideration for your older pet. Our first priority is to keep them happy and comfortable. Our senior pets are more likely to develop serious health issues within a matter of months. Observing a twice-annual schedule for your pet’s examinations is especially important for senior pets to evaluate their organ functions, check for pain or weakness in their joints, and assess their hearing, eyesight, and overall health.
To help your pet remain in optimal health during their senior years, we recommend that your veterinarian review your pet’s medical history for changes and perform a complete physical examination with suggested lab tests every six months. The more regularly we review and evaluate your senior pet, the earlier we can detect diseases, and decide as a team the best treatment for your pet.
We understand that coming to the vet might be difficult for older pets but our house call services makes it easier than ever for our animal family members to get the quality care they deserve.
